About the artist4
Maalikunstnik Agu Pihelga (1936.aastani Pihlendorf/Piilendorf) sündis 3.08.1910 Harjumaal taluniku perekonnas. Õppis alates 1928. aastast Riigi Kunstitööstuskoolis dekoratiivmaali eriala (R.Nymani ja A.Janseni juhatusel), lõpetas koolis 1934.a. Pärast ajateenistust jätkas õpinguid 1936-1939 helsingis Soome Kunstiühingu koolis, kus tema põhiliseks õpetajaks oli W.Lönnberg. Mobiliseeriti Punaarmeesse, Eestisse naases 1946.a. Seejärel töötas 1946-1980 ERKI-s õppejõuna. Kunstnike Liidu liige alates 1956. aastast.
