Iris Uuk on sündinud 12. märtsil 1942. a. Tallinnas, lõpetanud Kunstiülikooli maali osakonna 1974. aastal (diplomitööks Tudu metsamajandi vitraaz´aken) ning töötab vabakutselise kunstnikuna.
Kunstniku meelisteema on lilled, mis võimaldavad kõige paremini edasi anda värvielamusi.

Näitusi on Iris Uuk korraldanud alates 1980. aastast. Kaugeimad esinemispaigad on 1992. a. Stockholm ja 1994. a. Moskva, Eestis on ta esitlenud oma töid Draakoni Galeriis, Õpetajate Majas, Vene Kultuurikeskuses jm.
